I was going to post the progression of the past few days -- the disappearance of the chimney, the removal of the bathroom floor, the loss of our ghetto cooktop and oven. But then I figured this would say it all.
As our lead carpenter said, it really opens up the room. Tomorrow we lose the floors in the kitchen and then they start wiring and plumbing, which means we'll be those schmucks showering at work and friends' houses. Well, even the dog is shocked and we're all spending a lot of time in the guest room.
Just like the financial crisis, I suspect this is only going to get worse before it gets better.
